Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of my website, the purchase of prints and other products through my online shop, and the photography services provided by Charlotte Dormoy

By using this website, purchasing products or booking my photography services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any legal rights you have as a consumer.

1. About me

This website is operated by:

Charlotte Dormoy
Email: hello@charlottedormoy.com

I am a sole-trader wedding photographer based in England.

I am currently not registered for VAT, so VAT is not charged on my services or products.

Throughout these Terms & Conditions, "I", "me" and "my" refer to Charlotte Dormoy.

"You" and "your" refer to anyone using this website or purchasing products from my online shop.

2. Using my website

You may use my website for lawful purposes only.

You must not:

·       Use the website in a way that breaches applicable laws or regulations.

·       Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems.

·       Introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful material.

·       Interfere with the operation or security of the website.

·       Copy, reproduce or commercially exploit my website content without my written permission.

I may update, change, suspend or withdraw parts of the website from time to time.

I make reasonable efforts to keep the information on my website accurate and up to date, but I cannot guarantee that all information will always be complete, current or free from errors.

3. Photography enquiries and services

You can use my website to enquire about my wedding photography services.

Submitting an enquiry through my website does not constitute a booking.

If you are interested in booking me, I will discuss your requirements with you and, where appropriate, provide a quotation and photography agreement.

Wedding photography bookings are governed by a separate photography agreement that I provide to you before your booking is confirmed.

That agreement contains the specific terms applicable to your wedding, including the services provided, fees, payment arrangements, cancellation and postponement arrangements, image delivery, copyright and use of photographs.

These website Terms & Conditions are not intended to replace or override the terms of an individual photography agreement.

4. Intellectual property and copyright

All photographs, images, text, graphics, logos, branding and other content on this website belong to me or are used with permission, unless otherwise stated.

My photographs are protected by copyright.

You may view the website and its content for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You must not, without my written permission:

·       Copy or reproduce my photographs or other website content.

·       Download photographs for purposes other than personal viewing where downloading has not been expressly permitted.

·       Sell or commercially exploit my photographs.

·       Modify, edit or manipulate my photographs.

·       Use my photographs in advertising or other commercial materials.

·       Remove copyright notices or other identifying information.

If you would like to use any of my photographs or other content for commercial or other purposes, please contact me.

5. Print shop

I sell photographic prints and other photographic products through my online shop.

My prints are made to order and handmade in a darkroom.

Each print is individually produced and is therefore unique.

Colour and appearance:

Because my prints are handmade in a darkroom, the finished print may differ slightly from the digital image displayed on my website or on your screen.

There may be differences in:

·       Colour

·       Contrast

·       Tonality

·       Brightness

·       Other characteristics resulting from the analogue/darkroom printing process

These variations are an inherent characteristic of handmade darkroom photography.

The digital image shown online is intended to provide a representation of the photograph and does not guarantee an exact colour or contrast match to the finished physical print.

This does not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise does not conform to the contract.

6. Product descriptions and images

I make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs and other information displayed on my website are accurate.

However, colours displayed on a computer, tablet or phone screen can vary depending on the device and its settings.

The appearance of a physical print may therefore differ slightly from the image displayed on your screen.

7. Prices

Prices for products are displayed on the website at the time of purchase.

I am currently not VAT registered, so VAT is not charged.

I reserve the right to change product prices at any time.

Any price change will not affect an order that I have already accepted, except where there has been an obvious pricing or technical error.

If I discover an obvious error in the price of a product you have ordered, I will contact you before processing the order and give you the option to confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it.

8. Placing an order

When you place an order through my online shop, you are offering to purchase the selected product.

Your order will be accepted when I confirm the order and/or begin processing it.

I reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where, for example:

·       A product is unavailable.

·       There has been an obvious pricing or technical error.

·       I am unable to fulfil the order.

·       There is a reasonable concern regarding fraudulent or unauthorised activity.

If I cancel an order after you have paid, I will refund the amount you have paid for the affected order.

9. Payment

Payment must be made using the payment method available through the online shop at the time of purchase.

Your payment may be processed by a third-party payment provider.

I do not normally have access to or store your full payment card details.

10. Print production

Prints are produced after an order has been placed.

Because the prints are handmade in a darkroom, production times may vary.

The estimated production and delivery timeframe will be shown on the website or communicated to you at the time of purchase.

I will make reasonable efforts to meet any stated timeframe, but unforeseen circumstances may occasionally cause delays.

11. Delivery

Products will be delivered to the address provided when you place your order.

Please check that your delivery details are correct before completing your purchase.

You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address.

Delivery times depend on the product and delivery service used.

If your order is delayed, lost or damaged during delivery, please contact me as soon as possible so that I can investigate the issue and take appropriate action.

Your statutory rights regarding delivery remain unaffected.

12. Returns and cancellation of print orders

12.1 Your cancellation rights

If you purchase an eligible print online as a consumer, you will generally have a 14-day right to cancel your purchase after receiving the goods.

You do not normally have to give a reason for cancelling.

If you wish to exercise this right, you must notify me within 14 days of receiving the print.

After notifying me, you must return the print within 14 days.

You are normally responsible for the direct cost of returning an item when exercising the statutory cancellation right, unless the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

12.2 Personalised or bespoke products

Some products may be made specifically to your individual requirements or personalised at your request.

Where a product is genuinely personalised or made to your specifications, the statutory 14-day cancellation right may not apply.

Where this is the case, I will make this clear before you place your order.

The fact that my standard prints are handmade or made to order does not, by itself, remove your statutory cancellation rights.

12.3 Returning an eligible print

If you cancel an eligible order, the print should be returned in a condition that allows me to assess it.

You may handle the print as reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and condition, but you may be responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary.

Please package returned prints carefully and securely.

12.4 Refunds

Where you validly cancel an eligible order, I will refund the purchase price and the standard delivery charge paid for the original order, subject to applicable law.

I may wait to issue the refund until I have received the returned print or you have provided evidence that you have sent it back, whichever happens first.

Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.

12.5 Faulty, damaged or incorrect prints

If your print arrives damaged, is defective, is materially different from its description or otherwise does not conform to the contract, please contact me as soon as possible.

Please provide photographs of the damage or problem where reasonably possible.

Your statutory consumer rights apply in these circumstances.

Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.

Reasonable variations in colour, contrast and tonality that arise from the handmade darkroom process are not, by themselves, considered a defect where the print is otherwise of satisfactory quality and as described.

13. How to request a return

To request a return, cancellation or refund, please contact:

hello@charlottedormoy.com

Please include:

·       Your name

·       Order number

·       Date of purchase

·       Product purchased

·       Details of your request

·       Photographs showing any damage or defect, where applicable

I will provide return instructions where a return is required.

14. Privacy

I collect and process personal information in accordance with my Privacy Policy.

My Privacy Policy explains:

·       What personal information I collect.

·       Why I collect it.

·       How I use it.

·       Who I may share it with.

·       How long I keep it.

·       Your data protection rights.

Please read my Privacy Policy before submitting an enquiry or purchasing a product.

15. Cookies

My website uses cookies and similar technologies.

Some cookies are necessary for the website to function, while others may be used for analytics and other purposes.

Please see my Privacy Policy for further information about the cookies and tracking technologies used on my website and how you can manage them.

16. Third-party services

My website and online shop rely on third-party services, which may include Squarespace, payment providers, delivery providers and other technology services.

I am not responsible for interruptions or failures caused by third-party services that are outside my reasonable control.

Where a third-party service is necessary to fulfil an order, I will make reasonable efforts to resolve any issue or provide an appropriate alternative where possible.

17. Website availability

I aim to keep my website available and functioning properly, but I cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free from interruptions.

The website may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical problems or circumstances outside my control.

18. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to the above, I will only be responsible for losses that are reasonably foreseeable and arise directly from my breach of these Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.

19. Events outside my control

I will not be responsible for failure or delay in performing my obligations where this is caused by circumstances beyond my reasonable control.

This may include serious illness, natural disasters, fire, flood, extreme weather, government restrictions, transport disruption, strikes, significant technical failures or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been prevented or anticipated.

I will make reasonable efforts to communicate with you and minimise the effect of such circumstances.

20. Complaints

If you have a complaint about my website, products or service, please contact me first so that I have an opportunity to resolve the issue.

I will consider your complaint fairly and make reasonable efforts to resolve it.

21. Changes to these Terms & Conditions

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to my business, website, products or applicable law.

The latest version will be published on this website and will include the date it was last updated.

Changes will not retrospectively alter the terms of an order that I have already accepted.

22. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

23. Your statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or replace any rights you have under applicable consumer protection or other legislation.

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

24. Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms & Conditions, please contact me.
