Peak District Engagement Photoshoot - Charlotte & James

I've known Charlotte since school. I can't begin put into words how excited I felt when she messaged me asking about an engagement shoot. It is always an honour when people reach out, but I think there is something extra special when I get to photograph and celebrate someone I know.

Charlotte and James are such a beautiful couple. The story of how they met feels like something that you'd hear in a book or see in a film. Charlotte was working in a cafe where James' mum was a regular. After a year, James' family finally managed to set them up and the rest has been history. They are adventurous and full of joy and energy for life. Their relationship is so magical and special to witness.

We met on a cloudy afternoon at Snake Woodland, Hope Valley in the Peak District. We managed to make it through most of the session without a single drop of rain, but just as we were taking the final photos, the heavens opened. Snake Woodland is such a beautiful place to have a photoshoot, there are various places to explore in the area, hills to walk and and trails to follow. Charlotte and James were staying in somewhere in Derbyshire and it took them a similar amount of time to travel there to me (I was coming from Manchester).

The whole area was super atmospheric with the low cloud and we often joked it was like being a part of the Twilight films. It is definitely a beautiful, unique and magical space to have an engagement photoshoot.
